Date: Wednesday, May 27, 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Meeting Point: The southern end of David Balfour Park, by the traffic light across from Roxborough Drive (beside Mount Pleasant Road)
The Midtown Ravines Group and Toronto Nature Stewards (TNS) will be initiating volunteer stewardship activities in the southern section of David Balfour Park / Vale of Avoca. This initial session will be a walk-through of the area to look at a diverse group of invasive plants currently thriving there. The focus of future stewardship activities will be controlling certain invasives to make room for native varieties to thrive. The session will also include a brief overview of how TNS carries out community-led stewardship activities at over 50 sites across the city.
This will not be an active stewardship session, but if you bring gardening gloves you can try your hand at garlic mustard extraction.
